Northwell Health – Giving Back to First Responders
AVF participated in 2021 from the wellness week at Northwell Health at The Cohen’s Children’s Hospital, where we donated 2,000 sport apparel items to the administrative and medical staff of the hospital. This event was a joint effort with one of our closest partners to express our gratitude for the hard work that all the doctors and nurses did to keep our community safe from the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The Inn Organization
The AVF team was proud to meet with Jason Tessler, Director of Distribution and Warehousing, The INN, located in Hempstead, to donate knit hats to their organization in support of all their great work. The Inn is a local non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to people in extreme poverty, to help them have a dignified life regardless of their economic situation.
Duchenne Community Event
Cure Duchenne
In 2020 our family learned that my nephews Chase & Dylan were in the earliest stages of a rare disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Our family was devastated when we heard the news of our beautiful boys having a fatal disease.
Duchenne is an aggressive disease that takes the mobility of boys in adolescence and takes their lives in their twenties. With this devastating news our family knew we had to fight to find a cure.
We started advocating for Chase & Dylan to give them the best care and to help find a Cure. We joined a great organization called CureDuchenne to help fight the lives of 15,000 boys living in the United States.
AVF Development Corp. has helped raise 2 million dollars as the title sponsor of the Miami Cure Duchenne Event, in Miami over the last 4 years. It is making a difference in many lives.
AVF is committed to finding a cure, donating time and money to CureDuchenne to find a cure. Cure Duchenne is accelerating research through Clinical Trials with leading research hospitals across the country. CureDuchenne is the global leader in research, patient care, and innovation for improving the lives of all the boys that are stricken with Duchenne.

The Carle Place Little League
AVF Development Corp. likes to support local sports teams, it’s something we have been doing for 30 years. We are a proud sponsor for The Carle Place Little League event held on Long Island.
It’s Great to see all the kids excited about baseball, something I played as a kid growing up. It’s so important that kids learn teamwork, and what both winning and losing can help round out their personalities as they get older.

Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park, NY has been helping families for over 35 years. The house is a safe space for families that have children that face medical uncertainty. The family needs support during this time in their lives.
AVF Development Corp. in 2024 decides that we need to help make the families more comfortable in this beautiful facility. Steps away from Cohen’s Children Hospital, we felt that the children needed something to keep them warm. AVF purchased 1,500 knit hats to give away to all the families that were staying at the Ronald McDonald House over the winter months.
Working with the Ronald McDonald House staff was a great experience. AVF will continue to support RMHC as we are planning several events over the next few years to help make lives a little easier.
